The Crime Prevention/Victim Protection Department (KP/O) of the Lippe Police Crime Directorate focuses on technical prevention for burglary protection, urban crime prevention, violence prevention and addiction/drug prevention, youth crime and youth protection, computer and internet crime, crime against senior citizens, preventive crime prevention as well as victim protection and victim support. Key elements of crime prevention work are internal and external networks.
Parents' evenings are organized in schools and childcare facilities on the topic of violence. Information events on the topic of violence for teachers and nursery school teachers are part of this work.
In a network consisting of the NRW competence team and the media center of the district of Lippe, the Geschwister-Scholl comprehensive school in Detmold and the PiSaK theater from Bielefeld, which focuses on theater education, the play "(S)Chattenwelten" is offered to secondary schools with the involvement of teaching staff and parents.
In cooperation with the Lippe Drug Counselling Service, the Lippe Blue Cross Center and in schools, events are held with young people focusing on alcohol. In the KP/O-Ordnungsamt-Jugendamt (Detmold) network, youth protection checks are carried out in petrol stations, video shops and media stores.
The mediation of adequate offers of help and information about victims' rights and the course of police investigation proceedings are essential elements of this work. To this end, the district of Lippe has a network of support facilities such as women's shelters, women's advice centres, the "Weißer Ring" organization, municipal, church and other institutions in order to quickly provide help and advice.
Police victim protection also includes prevention and lecture events on the topics of sexual violence, sexual abuse to the detriment of girls and boys, domestic violence and victim protection.
Demographic change and its socio-political impact in the near future are important topics of our time. Lectures on "Safety in everyday life" are held at the invitation of various organizers.
In the event of a burglary, victims are informed about technical burglary protection options by police advisors who regularly hold information events on this topic. The members of Schutzgemeinschaft Lippe are available to provide advice and information on preventive burglary protection. They are organized in the network "Zuhause sicher" (www.zuhause-sicher.de ), with which the Lippe district police authority has now been working successfully for 10 years. The authority also participates in the state campaign "Riegel vor".
The employees of the commissioner's office are also available to provide information on the prevention of religiously motivated extremism and offer seminars for interested groups.
The contact officer for Muslim institutions (KMI) at the Lippe district police authority is Chief Superintendent York Clases. He looks after a total of 13 Muslim cultural and mosque associations. His two areas of responsibility are imparting knowledge about Islam and building trust with these institutions. He is also available to advise all colleagues and other authorities and institutions.
