The largest directorate of the Lippe police has been under new management since August 1, 2021. Senior Police Officer (POR) Christian Peters succeeds Police Director Jürgen Siebel, who has taken his well-deserved retirement. As head of the Hazard Prevention/Employment Directorate, he is, among other things, the superior of the Lippe patrol officers as well as the employees at the control center and in the district service.

POR Peters completed his studies to become a senior police officer in 1997 and was first employed as a security guard by the police in Gütersloh. From 2001 to 2004, he was assigned to a command post at the authority. There and at Gütersloh police station, he then took on his first management tasks. In 2008, he was transferred to the Bielefeld police headquarters. There, as a member of the permanent staff, he was jointly responsible for the preparation and execution of major operations, among other things.

From 2011 to 2015, he was in training for the higher police enforcement service (career section III). During this time, he also had contact with the Lippe police and was involved in several operations and investigation commissions.
After completing his Master's degree at the German Police University in 2015, he returned to the Gütersloh district police authority. There, he headed the command center of the Hazard Prevention/Employment Directorate. In 2018, Peters moved to the State Office for Training, Further Education and Personnel Affairs of the North Rhine-Westphalia Police in Münster, where he was centrally responsible for promotion to the higher service as Head of Studies.

Peters, who lives in the Gütersloh district with his wife and their three children, is looking forward to his upcoming role as head of the largest directorate in Lippe: "I have found a well-functioning and well-trained management team and motivated employees here. I'm looking forward to tackling the challenges ahead with this team," says the Bad Lippspring native, who enjoys playing sport, listening to music or making music himself in his free time.
