Police victim protection and police victim assistance are intended to help protect people whose quality of life has been impaired by crime, serious traffic accidents and other harmful events from further negative consequences.

To this end, the victim protection officers of the Crime and Traffic Directorates offer comprehensive advice to safeguard the interests of victims and, if necessary, refer those affected to further assistance from external victim support institutions and advice centres.
